Eik (meaning "Oak" in old Norse) is a new design from Nordic Slings, featuring oak leaves and acorns. Eik the Acorn is the first wrap in the new design. The mustard weft is 100% speckled tussah silk, and the midnight blue warp is 100% Egyptian combed cotton. Öeko-tex 100 certified.

The Acorn is fairly loosely woven in a jacquard satin weave, balancing the grip of the nubby tussah thread, with glide provided by the weave. Both the cotton and silk are very soft, requiring minimal breaking in.

THE ACORN. From the mighty oak tree's simple flowers, the little acorn appeared one day. And the oak provided it with everything it needed to grow big, and strong, and full of potential. One day, the little acorn fell to the ground. Perhaps carried and buried by a small animal, or perhaps it flew with the gust of an autumn breeze. The acorn landed just right. With the strength given by the oak, the small acorn sent down its first tender roots, and soon grew its very own small, green leaves. The little tree stretched its first leaves towards the sky, and rain watered it, and the sun gave the little tree strength.

Slowly, the little tree grew, competing with the tall grass for sunlight. Passing deer nibbled its leaves, and its bark was chewed by hares and mice. But each year, the tree stood a little bit taller, a little bit stronger. Its bark grew thick, and its leaves provided shade and protection. And each autumn, the mighty oak tree grew full of little acorns. 🌰
