A wrap is the ultimate in comfort and versatility. A swaddle can be used from newborn to approx. 20 kg, and depending on how it is tied, the child can be carried in front, on the back or on the hip. With a swaddle, you can carry your child comfortably for a long time, as the weight is distributed symmetrically and evenly on your shoulders and back.
We recommend that you start by practicing tying the "Front Wrap Cross Carry", also known as the FWCC. For this binding you need a wrap in your base size. Find your basic size here
The fixed wrap is a carrier that is suitable for newborns as well as older children, and it distributes the child's weight evenly and symmetrically. With a swaddle, you can comfortably carry your child for longer.
You can go a long way by practicing in front of the screen at home. There are many good guides on e.g. YouTube.
We can highly recommend the good video instructions from sling guide Anita Andersen from Bær Kærligt . In the video below, she reviews the basic binding FWCC.
If you need further guidance, I can highly recommend booking a 1-to-1 session with one of Denmark's many skilled certified sling guides.
